For months now, the government of Vietnam has been dealing with the economic impact of an outbreak of avian flu, which has taken at least 16 lives and battered the country`s agricultural sector. To make up for that lost revenue, Vietnam has been ramping up its tourist trade, opening up areas of the country that have been off limits and promoting relatively unspoiled areas as new opportunities for development. As Craig Leeson reports, tourism represents a major opportunity for the Asian nation.
